Food and nutrition has a vital role to play in human development. Nutritional support should be part of the regimen because the body's nutritional demand increases when there is systematic inflammation process as seen in critically ill patients. Entreal nutrition support is the best option for nutritional support in critically ill patients. However, parental nutrition becomes the only otion for patients who have gastrointestinal tract. The general objective of the study was to assess the need for parental nutrition among critically ill patients in ICUs.
