Cassava roots contain cyanogens which are harmful to both human beings and animals, capable of producing acute and chronic intoxication. The objective of the study was to determine cyanide content in raw cassva and processed cassava roots grown in Mwinilunga and asses safety profile of cassava consumption by humans. The study shows that cassava flour from Mwinilunga was not conforming to the standards.
