Measles is responsible for considerable childhood morbidity and mortality and is a pediatric priority in developing countries like zambia.In 1980 MOH statistics showed that 10 percent of all the total number of children admitted to hospital were suffering from measles and 13 percent of all the deaths in children were due to measles.
