Self care is one of the most significant practices in the prevention of peurperal infection in postnatal mothers. In Zambia, sepsis is a second direct cause of preventable maternal deaths according to the Ministry of Health and it accounts for about 13% of total maternal deaths.Puerperal sepsis in a woman can lead to secondary infertility if not treated early. the aim of this study was to identify factors influencing self care practices among post natal mothers towards infection prevention during pueperium.
