<br/><br/> This study demonstrates how early promise turned into lost opportunities and how the country came to rely on aid instead of investment. The authors demonstrate the importance of a functioning financial sector, which in Senegal, degenerated rather than grew in line with development expectations and needs. Drawing on their analysis, they make a number of policy recommendations, demonstrating that all is not yet lost for Senegal but some radical adjustments need to and can be made.
