The general objective of the study was to assess the factors contributing to undernutrition in children less than 5 year old admitted to UTH's A 07 ward. Specific objectives included : to determine the background information on undernutrition of the child and caregiver; to determine immediate factors contributing to malnutrition (breastfeeding practices, weaning, dietary intake and disease), to determine underlying factors contributing to malnutrition.
