The Zambian maternal mortality rate is estimated to be at 591 per 100,000 live births. The main cause of death are due to pre eclampsia, anaemia and abortion complications. This research was necessitated by the fact that despite huigh antenatal coverage of 86 % in lusaka urban only 29% commence their antenatal early after 20 weeks of gestation and the remainder who start antenatal late may not be aware of the danger signs in preganancy. The study's aim is to dtermine the knowledge and attitude of antenetal mothers towards danger signs in pregnancy.
