Spinal cord injury occurs when a traumatic event results in damage of the nerve cells within the spinal cord. A careful epidemiological study can give isight into the magnitude of the problem of spinal tauma and resultant demand on medical and social resources. This study identified specific factors for the high frequency of traumatic spinal cord damage at UTH.
