Despite Zambia's relatively progressive abortion law, women continue to seek unsafe illegal abortions. post abortion complications remain one of the major causes of mortality among women of child bearing age in Zambia. Based on this problem, factors influencing the practice of unsafe abortions were investigated with the main aim of coming up with reccomendations to reduce the incidence of unsafe abortions among Zambian women.
