The main objective was to compare the use of artemether-lumefantrine AL and sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine SP in the drug therapy of uncomplicated malaria. In an effort to significantly reduce the malaria disease burden, the ministry of health has adopted the use of antimalarial combination therapy strategy as a replacement for the current monotherapy options in management of uncomplicated malaria in zambia.
