Includes bibliographical references.
The purpose of the study was to find out whether there is a relationship between overcrowding and repeated admissions among children admitted to the pediatric wing of the UTH. The UTH paediatric wing with a capacity of 235 beds admits 400-500 patients and this results in overcrowding as 2 to 3 patients are nursed in one bed or cot.
